Justin and Jailee's Wedding

Another one of my handsome nephews got married.  This is the third since January.  Justin and Jailee are a great couple.  They are very happy and love being together.  It was a very joyous and merry occasion.  I love these boys.  I tended Justin when he was very little in the summer time.  We had a great time singing and riding bikes together.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

 

Is it just me, or does William always look like he is up to something?  He kept getting me in trouble at the Temple.  Just kidding.  He saved me from a coughing attack in a very quiet place with a "Life Savor".

 Justin and Jailee came out the West door.  There is a really nice garden on that side.
Jailee spray-painted her boots for the occasion.  They were so cute!  Justin was a great sport and held her bouquet for her whenever she needed him to.  He was funny about it.  He even took time to smell the flowers.

The Reception

Look at the neat back drop they made.

This is the fence that marked where the line was suppose to start.  It was by Aunt Percillas house (in the front yard).  They had the gate opened there and just inside was the book.


Kate pointed out that the log looks like a heart.



This is a video I shot before the reception started.  I was trying to let you see how the yard was set up.  It looked really good.  Vicki did a great job with arranging it and with decorations.  Her flowers looked really beautiful and the fences and back drop was perfect.  I happened to catch Justin and Jailee changing their shoes (or taking them off).  Notice, Justin has the bouquet.

Quirky Quotes and Other Oddities At Our House

Ali:  Mom do you know where....(long pause) 
Me:  Where???
Ali:  Oh, I became unfocused for a minute.


Me:  Whose watch is on top of the fridge?
Josiah:  It's mine.
Me:  Um, why is it on top of the fridge?
Josiah:  Because I was going to take it to church with me, but then I forgot.
Me:  ???

(Kate getting on her bike to go to a friends house)
Me:  Don't go to anyones house that I don't know.
Kate:  Yeh, yeh.  Don't get hit by a car, don't talk to strangers, don't get bit by a black widow...I could go on and on and on.

Josiah:  Knock-Knock.
Me:  Whose there?
Josiah:  Interrupting cow.

Kate's Concert

Kates orchestra concert had a "Disney" theme.  They were allowed to dress up as a Disney character.  She choose Buzz Lightyear.  I'm glad she did because our neighbor had an amazing costume that fit her really well.  She played well and the audience enjoyed hearing music that they recognized.  It was a lot of fun.

 

Ali's Field Trip

I went with Ali's class to the local historical farm.  They have a really neat and really old tree that everyone likes to play on.  The bark is polished smooth.  I took a lot of pictures because, well, Ali looked so cute climbing the tree.  She is growing up so fast.  We are almost to the end of Kindergarten.  She will be gone all day next year, Josiah will be in middle school, Kate will be a big 4th grader, where does the time go?  I read a quote in a parenting magazine that said (referring to parenting) "The days are long, but the years are short."  That is how I am feeling tonight.  It's been a great day with everyone gathered around but tomorrow the time will speed back up. 

I always get a little sad on Sunday nights (which means I shouldn't blog on Sunday nights because I get sentimental and sappy- consider yourself warned).  I have for as long as I can remember.  Sunday night meant that I had to go to school soon.  It meant that I wouldn't see my sisters and their families for a few days.  It meant that my dad would go back to work.  It meant that the weekend was 5 days away.  That's life and, really, that is how it is suppose to be.  It made me appreciate the weekend (and my family) all the more.  Happy Sunday night.  Like I always tell Kate, only 5 days until the weekend begins!



The End is Near

According to a billboard on the freeway, the world is going to end this Saturday.  The end of the world has made for some interesting dinner conversations. 

Josiah:  If it's going to end, I wish it would do it on Thursday instead so I don't have to finish my England report that is due on Friday.

Kate:  I never got my own horse!

Ali:  I never got to ride Charlie in the field.

Josiah:  I hope it doesn't end until I'm 16 so I can drive first.

Josiah:   I hope it doesn't end until I'm 18, then I can drive and vote.

Kate:  Whats the point of being right about the end of the world?  It's not like you can brag about it!

Ali:  I've never been to Yellowstone!

Allen:  If I really thought the world was going to end this Saturday, I would of taken the week off from work.

Lori:  If it's going to end, you better be good!

Lori:  I would like to go skydiving before it ends.

Josiah:  Dad, we should go buy a Corvette, get it painted with flames, and go race it at the Miller Raceway.

Ali:  I want to ride in a hot air balloon.

Kate:  I hope it at least waits until after summer break.

Lori:  I'm not that worried about it.

Allen:  I'm not that worried about it either.

Kate:  I want to ride Charlie through the neighborhood before it ends.

Allen:  I hope it waits until Snowbird closes.

The end of the world has made us all think about what we want to do.  This is just a small portion of our conversations.  I'm sure there will be many more comments- at least until Sunday.  I think I'll wait until next week to start my spring cleaning- just to be safe.

Skiing May 14, 2011

Allen, Brady, Brandon and I went skiing on Saturday.  There is still so much snow up there.  The skiing is pretty good.  This is a movie of Brady, Allen and Brandon.  In that order (I think)- it's taken from a long way away so they look like little specks. 
 

They are doing maintenance on the tram.  It looks like it's been burned out or something.  All the windows and doors are gone.

Kate and I

Kate and I have had a fun few days.  On Friday I went with her class to a field trip to Heritage Park (a.k.a. This Is The Place).   It was interesting to learn how Native Americans skinned and tanned the hides of animals.   Ask Kate about it some time (but not when your eating!).  

She also spent some time making corn meal with rocks.  

On Saturday, She went to a birthday party.  Complete with face painting.

My favorite with Kate was on Monday.  It was my birthday and I had errands to run.  So I checked Kate out of school and we went and got a Jamba Juice.  We giggled a lot because we were sluffing.  She went with me on my errands.  It made my day having her with me.  I took her back to school before lunch.  It was so much fun, I still smile thinking about our time sluffing!
