Another amazing day at Snowbird
Brandon joined us for a blue bird day. It was lovely weather. With scenery like this, I can't help snapping pictures.
This is looking into Mineral Basin. In the distance is Heber Valley.
This is looking at Hidden Peak from the Baldy Hike. We are to the east of the tram. That zig-zag is the beginning of Chips run.

You can see the back of Timp in the distance.
This is the tunnel. It takes you, conveyor belt style, from Peruvian Gulch side to Mineral Basin. It is 600 feet long and trickier than you think to get on. They call it a "magic carpet". It's fun- everyone goes there at least once just to check it out. We go at least on a year just for kicks!
These are some chutes off the Baldy hike going into Mineral Basin. We didn't do them for the good powder shots (obviously) but for the experience of it. It's quite steep but not too scary. They can get down-right nasty. Ski Patrol closes them on bad days. To be honest, it was the first time I have been down them and I probably won't bother with them again for a long time (unless they really are powder).
