Mount Rushmore

Kate had a class project about the "Symbols of America".  Of course we chose the one that would be the most complex and messy- and FUN!  It doesn't get much better than a sculpture of Mount Rushmore (and we learned a few interesting facts too).  So after two trips to Michael's Craft for clay (one pail was NOT enough) and with the aid of Styrofoam balls, aluminum foil , nails and glue, we got Mount Rushmore.
I like the whole thing, but I think Abraham's beard is my favorite.  I like their mouths too.  Kate has great spacial skills.  This picture does not do it justice!

  1. Awesome Kate! That is a major project and I don't dare show this post to Anya, I think she will want to make one . . .

  2. You are quite the artist, Kate! I would never take on such a big project. Good job!
